My name is Karen Byrd and I am the proud owner of Kennel Silkwings. I have been breeding and showing dogs for many years, starting off with Dalmatians and Beagles. In 1999 I acquired my first Papillon from Kennel Caratoot's in Sweden. Since Ch. Caratoot's Captain Courageous came into my life, he has had a very special place in my heart.
I and my papillons live in the beautiful countryside just outside Atlanta in Georgia, USA. We have a large property with many different kinds of animals, and the dogs may roam around freely in a large part of the estate. You will not see my dogs crated, as I believe this is not a dignified way of life for my little darlings. Although they are greatly rewarded showdogs, at home they are also my pets and should have as a good life as possible.
As you will see while browsing my website, I have a clear devotion and passion for papillons of elegance and perfection. Even though good looks are a prerequisite for good results at dog shows, I consider a healthy construction and a sound temperament of utmost importance as well.
